A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to invalid email addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email message sent to the mistyped [email protected] will be delivered to [email protected] in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
You will be able to create a catch-all mailbox without any effort in case you’ve got a website hosting plan with us. The Email Manager in our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel is full-featured, yet unbelievably simple to work with, and it will permit you to enable various features, including the catch-all one, with no more than a couple of mouse clicks. All the mailboxes that you have created will be displayed in alphabetical order in this section and on the right side of each one you will find a mini "Catch-all" sign. Clicking on it once will enable this option, clicking on it once again will deactivate it. As you can have only one such mailbox per domain, our system will alert you if you’ve already got a different mailbox with this option activated or if you have active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with a couple of mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated service with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes under any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all option for a mailbox, you’ll need to click on the button with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this option can be accomplished in the very same fashion and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a specific domain, you’ll receive a warning notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never change or disable any feature automatically.
